Compact Linear Table Actuator to be used for the Surge Axis in my upcoming 5DOF motion rig.
It is based around the same concept as the TL actuator, but based on linear bearings + rods as I do not have space constraints there and this keeps cost down.
It is assembled directly on top of 4080 and 4040 profiles, which will double as cross bracing for the lower frame of the rig. For extra stiffness laser cut T and L connector plates are used. This design allow the actuator to be built inside the lower frame and keep the total stack height of the rig low.
A 150mm profile is placed on top of the lead screw nut to act as interface to the rig. The height is calculated according to my rig design and should be perfectly lined up with the surge slider platform once assembled providing easier interface with it.

Hey Stoyan, thanks for sharing all your knowledge!
I saw in one of the comments on your YT channel that you would have liked the pedals to be static, is it something you would recommend to do, to have only the seat move back and forth?

Hi, a friend made it with static and confirmed it is better. It is in my plan to do the same. You just make the seat slider platform shorter with shorter rails and that's that. I will most probably upload here both my slider and shorter version for seat only ;)

Great, I'll be keeping an eye on this :)
I'll begin first with installing classic 3dof system then I'm planning on adding your mods and begin with the Surge. Have a good one!
