    • ::Update 07.2024 - Version 2.6::

      1. Beefed up the shifter arm for better durability and feedback, much stronger than before

      2. Used original Omron D2SW-P01L1H switches with the short travel plate as these switches have shorter stroke themselves - work like a charm, the best variant till now

      3. Switched to Azure Strongman PLA (PLA+) - much better feel, less flex, also shifter should be more durable. Material being stiffer than regular PLA is has much better feel overall.

      4. Added Simagic Alpha mounts - they have good side support and flex is down to minimum with them.

      5. Our user Leon provided Fanatec CSL DD mounts - you can find them in the corresponding subfolder. As power button is in the way you would need lower bracket to be shorter, also found in the files.

      6. Our user Zbyněk provided backplate for Fanatec CSWB 2 mounting as well as solid Rally style paddle - also in the subfolders

      7. Modified the CSL DD backplate to feature my new magnetic DDU mount, again you need shorter bracket

      8. Modified the CSWB mount to have DDU QR and same design as my other brackets. Tested with CSWB 2.5, works perfectly and because of the added support near shaft it is much more stable than the DD1/2 variant.

      ::Update 05.2023 - Version 2.5::

      Added two more versions of the sideplate which limit the shifter throw. Now the travel measured at paddle end is as follows:

      L - 15mm

      M - 12mm

      S - 9mm

      Also tested with several magnet what is the pull force needed for shift with different magnets. Here is how it relates corresponding to number of magnets per side:

      1x 18x6mm magnet - 0.64kg / 6.3N

      1x 18x6mm + 1x 15x4 magnets - 0.94kg / 9.2N

      2x 18x6mm magnets - 1.1kg / ~11N

      For me best travel is the shortest. At 1.1KG pull force the PLA construction seems to be near it's limit. At mid point feels quite good to me, works very well, you have decent mechanical feel and very fast response. You can play around with magnets and figure out your preference.

      N.B.! - If you decide to use the S side plate version you will have to bend a little the Micro Switches arms - it is very short throw on switch side and they should be adjusted. It is a bit fiddly but works perfectly - no mis-shifts. Video instructions coming shortly.

      The limiting screw plates were modified to use brass nut inserts as well. This allows limiting screws to be properly tightened and not loosen over time. This adds much to shifter stability - now it has true Zero Play.

      ::End of Update::

      Upgraded my Push-pull shifter design. Now it features bigger magnets, ball bearings and shorter throw.

      Finally it feels proper! Works very well, construction is quite stable and shifter itself is very small but pack a big punch. The high infill provides stable construction and great mechanical feedback - the shifter has quite nice feel for a 3D printed part.

      The paddle featured is 3D printed and then carbon fiber skinned. You can read about this technique in the links above in the Description above. It is extremely rigid and feels exactly as if it was cut from solid carbon fiber sheet.

      Using 18mm magnets provides very good resistance. You can always add 2 more magnets for stronger feel but I never needed them. Even with the big paddle how it is currently set is perfect.

      All parts were printed with high infill for better performance.

      Paddles can be downloaded from the linked projects in the Description above.

      Assembly instructions are on YouTube linked again above. Fanashifter project linked above on GitHub.

      The Fanatec bracket features Quick Release for my Rally style DDU display which can be found here as well.
