    Why 3030 Aluminium Profiles?

    The decision to build the MK-II Pro Pedals around 3030 aluminium profiles was a deliberate one.

    Rather than relying on large structural 3D-printed parts or expensive custom-machined components, 3030 profiles provide an excellent balance of rigidity, affordability and worldwide availability. They are easy to source, simple to replace and make future upgrades straightforward.

    Using aluminium profiles also makes the entire design highly modular. Components can be adjusted, serviced or replaced using standard hardware, ensuring the pedals remain maintainable for years to come.

    An additional benefit is aesthetics. The clean industrial appearance of 3030 profiles perfectly complements the 40-series aluminium profile used by most modern sim racing cockpits, allowing the MK-II Pro Pedals to look like a natural extension of your rig rather than a typical DIY project.

    Mounting Options

    The MK-II Pro Pedals support several installation methods to suit different simulator rigs:

    Bottom mounting directly to a pedal plate.
    Top mounting using access holes for the mounting hardware.
    Side mounting using optional 3D-printed 3030 brackets. This method is functional but is recommended only when reinforced with aluminium angle brackets underneath for maximum rigidity.

    The pedals are compatible with several controller solutions:

    Arduino Pro Micro + HX711 load cell amplifier (open DIY controller solution).
    Simagic Pedal Controller (connection guide included).
    SimNet and Simsonn controllers (compatible using the appropriate pinout configuration).

    The mechanical design is complete, thoroughly tested and ready for builders. The remaining work focuses on expanding the documentation, build guides and supporting resources.

    N.B. - Prices are with VAT and Shipping as I ordered at the time the project was published. Some items i bought in bulk, so % of actually needed parts was adjusted to give you idea of the final price of the non-printed parts needed for this project.

    Machining:

    Tap the profiles sides with M8 thread if you are going to use the side mounts.
