  • Button plate inspired by the Renault Sport Clio Rally4 steering wheel seen in season 2023. It is built around using the original Clio Cup steering wheel, in Rally series it is all black but same shape manufactured by Sabelt.

Button plate has mount holes on the back for shifters / wiper paddle. Fits other Rally steering wheels with similar shape (OMP) but does not fit so snugly.

Has some additional buttons, also D-Pads are supposed to be rotation switches, but I opted out making them fixed position with buttons.

D-Pads have tall and slim version, the tall being the last one I designed and at least to me looks better. Button covers have version with labelling and without, printed face down. I will be making in future stickers cut from vinyl for the labeless version and will upload the sticker file.

Left cluster is based on larger 16mm flat push button, but you have both 12 and 16mm button guards in the package. If you prefer using only 12mm buttons the labeless version can be mirrored and printed both sides. The D-Pad cover is also directional and has a cutout to pass through the button cable - it has to be mirrored in slicer and printed L+R.

My particular wheel has window wipers paddle mounted on the back same as in real rally car.

  • Parts needed:

    1. Momentary Push Button Switch 16mm - flat head button used with the guard

    2. Momentary Switch 2 Pin 12mm Waterproof Power Reset Non-locking - domed buttons

    3. Snap-Acting Click Momentary ON-MOM Mini Push Button Switch

    OR

    4. 7mm Thread Multicolor 2 Pins Momentary Push Button Switch

    5. Panel PCB Momentary Tactile Tact Mini Push Button Switch DIP 4pin 6x6x5mm - x8 for the D-Pads

    6. Prototype breadboard PCB to solder the buttons for the D-Pads

    7. Brass Hot Melt Insert Knurled Nut M3 4.2x6mm

    8. M3 bolts with various size to assemble backplate

    D-Pads:

I could not find the pictures how I made the underlying PCB but it is basically 4 tactile switches soldered on a project breadboard cut to octagonal shape to fit in the D-Pad housing. If you attempt to build it either you need to use your imagination or wait for the build log video to come out.

    Print Setting

Nothing special, only D-pad knobs needs supports.
