  • Simple system to add foldable castor wheels to the subframe that will carry my motion rig. It has build in dampers with EVA pads and extra machine feet for extra sideways stability.

Wheels are held by only two bolts and can removed easily when not in use. Added in package 4040 End Cap with cutout that facilitates wheel removal.

Suitable also for static rigs as system for easy transportation.

  • Parts Needed:

    1. Foldable Castor Wheels 76mm: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Heavy-Castors-Lowerable-Workbench-Polyurethane/dp/B0BWFMMPBR?th=1

    2. Adjustable Levelling Feet ALF-60-12-100: https://vallder.com/product/adjustable-leveling-feet/

    3. Connector Plate for M12 Levelling Feet: https://www.motedis.com/en/Connector-plate-Alu-lasered-Adjustable-foot-M12?ps=a_718

    4. Connector Plate 40x120; https://www.motedis.com/en/Connecting-plate-40x120-steel-black

    5. EVA Foam Compressor Damping Mat 100x100x20mm: https://www.ventilatieshop.be/wagner-mp-4e-rubberen-anti-trilmat-100-x-100-x-20mm/

    6. EluFlex 60-100 SF920212 Dampers to connect vertical actuators to frame: https://shop.sd-dresden.de/marken/eluflex/eluflex-sf/

    7. M8 socket bolts, tapered bolts and T-Nuts

    8. Alu Profile 4040 150mm to mount the wheels to

    9. Right angle bracket 4040 for extra stability on the wheel carrier

    10. M6x14mm socket botls + M6 4040 T-Nuts to mount EVA plate frame and Castor Wheel Backplate

    Print Settings:

No supports, material does not matter much. Print with 5-9 perimeters/layers for extra durability, but parts do not have structural function.

    Assembly:

Mount EVA plate frame bottom, attach damper with double sided tape. Friction between frame and EVA pad is enough to keep them connected when transported.

Mount Wheels on the central holes on the backplate. My experience shows two bolts are enough to hold the weight of a pretty heavy rig.

Mount machine feet bracket top to provide clearance for the feet themselves. Used to add extra dampening and wider frame support for the motion platform.
